Dirty Work
OK, alot has been happening, I have been busy at work. I teach
for a living. The kids are playing ball and I no longer have a frame. I sent
that off to get the Mustang IFS kit from Chevy Duty put on. The gentleman
doing the work is also putting on the kit for the rearend, I bought a rearend
from a 1988 GTA, 3:73 gears and positive track with disc brakes. So I thought
I would do alittle body work.
Nothing to exciting about body work. Lot of sanding, redoing, sanding etc. The most boring part of this project so far, but one of the most important. Wife and I still are thinking of colors. She wants a babyblue, I want a deep metallic purple. We will see.
When I knew I was going to drive this truck daily, the first
thing I wanted was to get the 235 out and put in a motor that would get me
there and back.I found a 350 motor that was running.

Here I was checking for clearance. I bought some motore mounts,
I made a mistake.
The motor mounts where for a 55 second series, I could have made them work, but wanted this thing to be done right, so I got on the phone with CD and ordered the cross member support.
After looking at this old 350 which the guy said it would
run, I didn't want to take the chance. So off went the motor to Jim's Machine
Shop. I can only say good thngs about them, 2 weeks later I got this back.

I was happy with the results and the money spent. Now I
just have a stronger desire to see this in the truck. A person always needs
to celebrate the milestones on a project like this.
I guess I need to decide what headers to use, but that can wait. Really need to get the rolling frame back. Still waiting. Hopefully next page will show the completed frame and the IFS kit.
