   There are approximately 200 miles of electrical lines in the City of Kennett, overhead and underground. These lines supply electricity to all business and residential customers in the city. The Distribution personnel perform duties dealing with all electrical power lines both underground and above. These duties include installing new lines, servicing and maintaining the old lines, trimming trees that interfere with the present lines, installing the City's Christmas decorations and responding to emergency calls 24 hours a day - 7 days a week - 365 days a year. The energy industry is becoming more advanced everyday. A job in the electrical industry is one of the most secure jobs in the work force. Extensive technical training is required for distribution linemen.
