What is involved in the installation of clgw.net Wireless?
Our professional installers will first conduct a free site survey to ensure availability of clgw.net Wireless services in your area. Installers will then configure the service and ensure that customers receive the best signal possible. Installations will include mounting a digital transceiver on the customer's premise; running a coaxial cable from the digital transceiver to a wireless modem; and connecting the modem to a customer's personal computer, which includes the installation of an Ethernet NIC – if needed – and the configuration of software to establish a network connection. Both Windows and Macintosh operating systems are supported.

What does Line of Sight Mean?
Line of sight means the antenna (transceiver) that is installed on your building needs to be in a visible line with the antennas located at one of our clgw.net POPs (points of presence). Large trees and other obstructions that may be in the communications path between you and the communications tower may in some cases, block the line of sight. When this happens, the signal may be degraded to the point where a reliable connection cannot be maintained.

What effect does the weather have on my connection?
Unlike higher frequency wireless products, the 5.8Ghz and 900mzh UNII band is virtually immune to weather conditions. The equipment mounted on your building can withstand temperatures ranging from –40F to 131F with 100% Humidity.

What is involved in the Installation?
Installation is very straightforward and similar to that of a satellite dish. We will mount an antenna panel on the building or place it on the roof using a non-penetrating roof mount. (Coax) will be run inside of your location where it will plug into a subscriber module (a special type of Modem)

How long does it take to get connected?
Installation is much simpler than a “wired” connection. We send out our own trained installer to mount and aim the antenna. As long as you have Line of Sight (LOS) to one of our towers, the process is very quick. Our Goal is to have you running within 3 business days of your order.

What if I have problems with the connection?
clgw.net has a wireless connection. We cannot be responsible for internal networking issues that may cause you to have connection problems.
You are responsible for maintaining your own network, servers, and network cabling.

How many people can the connection support?
Depending on the speed that you choose and how you have your internal network configured, your connection may be quite able to handle multiple users. The more people you have using the connection combined with what they use the connection for will determine the bandwidth you will need.

Who will setup my network?
We will configure your Internet connection for 1 PC in your Office. It will be your responsibility to configure your internal network to work with the new connection. Someone in your company that is in charge of providing network support can perform this or you may have an outside vendor you use for network issues. We'll be happy to recommend someone who can assist you with this type of configuration.

How much is the equipment?
You can waive the equipment cost by signing a two-year or one-year commitment for service. This allows you to obtain a high-speed, reliable Internet service without enormous up-front costs.

Why is the service so inexpensive when compared to other dedicated connections?
Since clgw.net owns, maintains, and installs the connections to our customers. This has a significant effect on the pricing of the service. The absence of the local loop allows us to get you connected within days instead of months.

What if I move my office prior to the contract termination date?
Depending on where you move, you can take the antenna/transceiver with you.
