Finished frame

Well, what started out to be a weekend job ended up being 8 weeks. This was ok since I'm taking my time, but sure did miss it.

I was shocked when I helped unload it from the trailer. I thought he had brought be another frame. Boy!! Did it look good.

The truck seemed to sit alittle higher, and looked more solid. I had bought a 1/2 gal. of Chevy frame paint with extra hardner.

The rearend is from a 88 GTA, 373 gears and positive track with disc brakes. He set this up also using the universal kit I got from Chevy Duty.

The springs where a pain to get in. You have to be careful here are they might pop out and they don't seem to be real good for supper.

I was so glad I paid to get this done right. I figure when I was going 70 down highway, I wanted to make sure it stayed all together, it might not have with my welding skills. ( Still Learning).

I went ahead and sat the cab back on so I can get measurements for motor mounts. I don't know if you can see wheels and tires very good. They are off a 78-81 corvette. Total price $400, figure I couldn't pass that up. Tires still had little knobbys on the side.

As you can see, I'm making progress, but sometimes it seems so slow. My word of wisdom to anyone reading this working on a project. "Celebrate the major steps". I took wife out when I got this back. Had to keep her happy because I know that long hours in the shop is in the future.
